Happy Easter Everyone! Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to making last Sunday’s Easter celebration spectacular. The sunrise service out on the Labyrinth was beautiful.  The Labyrinth looked great after all the hard work the congregation put in on Labyrinth cleanup day and with the addition of the new rocks and gravel and the professional landscaping provided by BlueSky landscaping.  Thanks to Mark Loos for assisting with worship; Marian Lacey, Bill Nelson and Jim Casey for providing music and everyone who helped set up. And we couldn’t have asked for better weather to enjoy the palm trees and the gorgeous fields of yellow flowers, and to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
The worship service at ten was equally joyous. The sanctuary was adorned with a new set of banners and Kathy Young’s lovely flower arrangements. The choir under the direction of our music director John Lehrack and accompanied by David Borac led us in song and even had us clapping along with the anthem. Thanks also to Marian for assisting with worship and Bill Holland for running tech.
Between services members, friends, guests and visitors enjoyed a lovely pancake brunch and potluck. Many thanks to all the folks who worked behind the scenes to shop, set up/cleanup, cook and make the event a success. A special shout out to Marian Lacey, Bill Nelson, Jim Casey, Suzanne Bruce, Bill Strom, and Alice Kope for their contributions. And thanks to Walter Rau for taking photos of all the festivities. Make sure to check out all the pictures of Easter and Holy Week that Tami included in this newsletter.
As wonderful as our Easter day celebrations were, we all know that Easter and the Resurrection is about more than just one day. It is about rebirth and new life. It is about how God through Jesus and the Spirit is working in the world. And so the transforming work of Easter continues all year long as the Spirit continues to recreate each of us according to the image of God and re-form our church community according to the pattern of God’s kingdom. The Spirit is at work in us and through us as we, committed to following in the ways of Jesus, worship together, serve together, fellowship together and even struggle with one another. This is how we participate in God’s work of rebirth, by allowing the Spirit and the Word guide us in how we live together as the body of Christ resurrected in community.

Easter blessing,
Pastor Sue
