Finding the Path Forward

​For almost a year now, the Pathfinder team has been meeting regularly with Kristin Wiersma, our consultant from the Joshua Group. During that time, this dedicated group of CLC members and friends has been prayerfully distilling and reflecting on the information they received from the congregation in the surveys and interviews in order to get to the heart of who we are at CLC, what our strengths and resources are as a community and where our passions lie, as the first step to discerning where God is calling CLC. The team has updated CLC’s mission and values statements based on the results of this work.
The process of envisioning the future for CLC starts with asking the question “why?” Why are we here? What is the purpose of our organization? This purpose is captured in the mission statement. We use our mission statement to assess all the programs, activities and everything we do; it should be the fundamental purpose all that we do.
The how of what we do is captured in the value statements. These become the guardrails we will use to evaluate how we implement the things we do; they define how we are going to live out our lives in Christ.  
The updates to the mission and value statements are on the following pages. Please read them and ponder over them. The question for the congregation is, do these updated statements reflect who we are as a congregation?
On this coming Sunday, November 14 at 2pm we will be holding a congregational meeting on Zoom. The Pathfinder team and consultant Kristin will provide the congregation with an update on the revisioning process, will present the new statements and be available for questions and comments. We hope you will attend and provide us with your input. We need everyone at CLC to be involved in creating the path forward.
