Spring is in the Air! - April, 2017

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last [this one] will stand upon the earth."” (Job 19:25  NRSV)

These words are in the midst of a story where life is completely unraveling for a faithful man of God, Job.  He has lost family, health, and home, accused of being to blame for his woes but he will not let go of trusting in the Source of all life, love, and joy.  It is truly astounding and speaks to a voice within many of us in times of heartache, struggle, and pain.  When the earth is dormant, the trees bare, and death seemingly all around us, it can be difficult to believe that this is not the end.  

Isn't this what Holy Week culminating in Easter Alleluia's is all about?!!  We understand the reality of the misuse of power, unjust abuse, deceit, betrayal, and death itself.  The latter no one gets to avoid.  Not one single person.  That's why signs of new life springing up all around give us hope, wonder, and joy.  We dare to trust that even the darkest of moments, our most painful realities are not the final word.  God's love, goodness, and mercy is greater and extends beyond any and all death. The presence and power of God gives us clarity, strength, and purpose to look beyond to hear, see, touch and believe the promise made known in Jesus that My Redeemer Lives!  

Enter into this holy week with reverence and great expectation!  See how  your life, our lives can be transformed yet again by the new life offered to us in the everpresent unconditional love and mercy of God in Jesus Christ.
